| Thank you so very much for all that you do to make Windsong successful. We truly appreciate and realize the sacrifices you all make to volunteer, you all have a special place in our hearts. We are so fortunate that Windsong is available for Eric to be a participant. While Eric is on horseback, his disabilities can fade into the background and he can enjoy interacting with the horse while he sits tall and proud. Unlike some of the stretching and therapy Eric must endure, the physical therapy benefits while on horseback are fun for him. Eric is challenged to use his communication, listening, following direction and social skills with the motivation of riding, while at the same time stretching and strengthening his muscles in a way that is not comparable to traditional physical therapy. Eric has made tremendous progress in his riding skills and this has transferred over to his daily life. He has avoided needing tendon release surgery and his hips have remained stable (to the surprise of his physician) during his current growth spurt, this is in part due to the benefits of riding. As a parent, it is so heartwarming to see Eric participate in something fun, exciting and as beneficial to him as Wind song. Eric may never run with his own legs, but he can trot with Mamasita and your help! THANK YOU!! | ||
| Before riding with Windsong, my daughter could not do a simple butterfly stretch. But since she has started riding, she not only can put her legs down to do the butterfly but bend down at her waist while doing that stretch and has started to walk! We know she can do this because of Windsong. Thank you! | ||
